Taqi Shaheen is a filmmaker and visual artist based in Pakistan who creates audio visual installations, films, paintings, photographs and performances. His work crosses mediums and defies genre distinctions to fashion witty and curious observations of contemporary Pakistani culture and its urban landscapes. He has worked and collaborated with many artists, and has been a leading exponent in contemporary audio visual art extensively touring his works.
In 2002, he founded DEDACHI, a group of artists, musicians and performers to produce collaborative works in theatre and films. He has also been involved in various theatre productions as a writer and director. In recent years he has designed for the stage, including productions of Fantastic Mr.Fox, James and the Giant Peach for Alliance Françoise, Pakistan. He received a graduate degree in Fine Arts from National College of Arts, Lahore.
